May 2, 46 34 Issaquah, Washington. What is your guys go to for adjustable gas blocks? I just finished building a 20 inch SPR style rifle that is definitely over-gassed with a suppressor on it. So I figure I can throw an adjustable gas block on it tune it to my load and be done with it.

This leads me to think I'll be putting on an adjustable gas block in the near future. I have never purchased one, and would like to get your opinions.

The current handguard covers the gas block by a few inches. If possible, I would like to keep that handguard and get a gas block that I can adjust with a long hex wrench, or something similar. Any recommendations?

Supressors tend to over gas actions when installed on normally functioning rifles. Failure to eject, in my experience, is from under-gassing or other issues. I'm not saying it's impossible that over gassing is causing failure to eject, it just tends to be lower on the list.

How many rounds thru it supressed and un supressed? Any changes? New ammo? What ammo? What is the ejection pattern change when you add the can? There are multiple types of FTE. So let's start with exactly what happens to the spent brass when it fails to eject. Stovepipe- most likely overgassed as the brass did not have time to be flung out by the ejector while traveling rearward.

Probably make the use of the suppressor easier on the action too which will be cycled harder due to the increased pressure. So I would say yes. It would be better to have adjustable gas on a suppressed AR. Arm yourself because no one else here will save you. The odds will betray you, and I will replace you I built an AR specifically for my M suppressor as running it even on a piston AR had a lot of blow back down the barrel and violent operation as well.

A suppressor puts quite a bit extra stress on the whole firearm and you should do what you can to help tame it. I have a Noveske switch block on one of their barrels and that system cuts down considerably the beating the host takes.

I also installed an extra heavy buffer that helps keep the action locked up just a little longer as without it the action opens early and spits out gas and carbon bits into my face and as well down the magazine well into the magazine.

Personally I would suggest building up a host that will only be used with a suppressor as you will get the best performance as well as longer life out of the firearm.
